Location
The villa is located on the Quinta da Balaia estate, just 2km from the popular resort of Albuferia. There is mini-market on site making it easy to pop out for a loaf of fresh bread. There is also a stylish resort restaurant, so you can enjoy a few drinks with dinner before strolling home through the fragrant resort gardens. Santa Eulalia Beach is just 1.1km away, and there are a number of sandy beaches to explore, all within short drive of your villa.
When it comes to leisure, you have plenty of options. The Quinta da Balaia resort also has a large communal pool with poolside snack bar and a tennis club with coaching packages available. Just 1km away is the Balaia Golf Village resort, with a scenic 9-hole course. Golf enthusiasts may also want to visit Vilamoura, one of Europe's top golf destinations, which has a selection of 18-hole championship courses. Balaia Beach is a picturesque crescent of gently sloping sand leading to warm shallow waters, making it very popular with families with young children. You can also choose from a variety of water sports including water skiing, jet skiing, and sailing.
Once a traditional fishing village, Albufeira is now a sprawling town with plenty to see and something to suit everyone. During the day you can enjoy the sandy stretches of beach or browse the markets where local handicrafts and fresh goods are sold. In the evening, a wide variety of bars, restaurants and clubs fill the streets with people and life; locals sit on the terraces of traditional restaurants, the bars fill up with thirsty punters and all kinds of music drift across the air. You can admire the array of white yachts in the newly completed marina in the west. Alternatively, you could stroll around the Old Town and explore the maze of cobbled streets, past white-washed fishermen's houses.
To the east is Vilamoura, an extremely cosmopolitan resort, offering almost every kind of sport and entertainment. You will find six golf courses, sports clubs, horse riding stables, a shooting range, night clubs, a casino and plenty of restaurants and bars.
Villa Walkthrough
Approach:Each villa on the Quinta da Balaia estate is reached by driving through beautifully landscaped grounds filled with leafy fruit trees and mature pines. Each villa has ample parking space, and some have covered car ports.Ground Floor:The front door opens to the spacious living and dining room. Richly coloured fabrics and polished wooden furniture create a warm and homely atmosphere. On one side of the room is a living area, with comfortable sofas arranged around a coffee table. You will also find a TV with satellite channels, DVD player and CD stereo - perfect for when it's time to come in out of the sun.
The dining room is reached through an arched alcove. Light and airy, the dining room has a solid wooden dining table to seat eight, as well as patio doors that open onto a covered terrace with al fresco dining furniture. Next to the dining room is the beautiful modern kitchen, with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.
Downstairs is a twin bedroom, accessed via a small lobby. The twin bedroom is decorated in soft colours, with twin reading lamps and nightstands, sheer drapes and fitted wardrobes. French windows lead out to the leafy gardens. Beside the bedroom is a fully-tiled bathroom.Outside:Patio doors lead out to a partially covered terrace with garden furniture and a barbeque for leisurely al fresco dining. Just a few steps away is the spacious pool terrace, with sunloungers and parasols that are perfect for lazing by the pool.
Surrounding the pool and villa are mature gardens bordered by a beautiful variety of fruit trees, fragrant pines and leafy palms. Sheltered and shaded by trees and shrubs, the lawn makes an ideal play area for young children, or a secluded reading spot for those seeking some peace and quiet.First Floor:Upstairs are three more bedrooms. The beautifully-furnished master double bedroom has twin nightstands, fitted wardrobes, and an en suite full bathroom. French windows lead to a private balcony overlooking the pool area and gardens, and out to sea. The two remaining bedrooms have cosy twin beds with nightstands and fitted wardrobes, and share the use of a full bathroom.
